April 23 – April 24, 2025: Dr. Mahendra Reddy allegedly visits Kritika’s home and administers intravenous injections under the guise of treatment. Dr. Kritika Reddy collapses and is declared dead on arrival at a local private hospital .Initial Investigation: The death is recorded as unnatural but seemingly normal .Dr. Nikita M. Reddy, Kritika’s elder sister, requests a thorough investigation .October 14, 2025: Kritika’s father, Muni Reddy, files a formal complaint. Approximately Six Months Later: Forensic reports confirm the presence of propofol in Kritika’s organs, establishing the cause of death.Marathahalli police register a case under Section 103 of the Indian Penal Code (Murder). Dr. Mahendra Reddy is apprehended in Manipal, Udupi, where he had been residing. A lookout circular had been issued against him.Investigators allege Dr. Mahendra Reddy administered propofol, an anesthetic typically restricted to operating theaters, to his wife.Police suspect that Dr. Mahendra Reddy exploited his access to hospital resources (OT and ICU stock) to obtain the anesthetic.Investigators are examining how he used his medical knowledge to plan and attempt to conceal the crime.The motive is still under investigation, but the suspicion of murder stems from the illegal administration of a potent drug.Dr. Mahendra Reddy’s family has a history of alleged criminal activity.Dr. Mahendra Reddy and another brother, Raghav Reddy, were co-accused in intimidation cases in 2023.His twin brother, Dr. Nagendra Reddy, faced fraud and criminal cases in 2018.
