Dharmendra reunites with Jaya Prada, celebrates 45 years of marriage with Hema Malini

Mumbai, May 3: Bollywood legend Dharmendra recently reunited with his longtime co-star Jaya Prada, who visited him along with a close family friend. The veteran actor shared warm moments from the meeting on Instagram, posting two photos with Jaya and expressing his joy:

“Jaya Prada, my lovely co-star came to see me today along with a loving family friend of hers. I am extremely happy to see them all.”

Happy anniversary mamma & papa. You are my world. Love you,” Esha wrote, accompanying pictures from her parents’ early days and a recent family portrait with sister Ahana.

Dharmendra and Hema’s love story began on the sets of Tum Haseen Main Jawaan in 1970. After a decade-long courtship, the couple married in 1980 and went on to have two daughters, Esha and Ahana.

At the time of his second marriage, Dharmendra was already a father to four children — Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Ajeeta, and Vijeeta — with his first wife Prakash Kaur.

In the aftermath of the deadly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu confirmed that the Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued strict instructions to all airline operators not to hike airfares. The attack, which unfolded at 3 PM on Tuesday, resulted in the deaths of 26 people. 

“We are constantly making efforts to ensure safe travel of tourists from Srinagar,” said Mr Naidu. “Strict instructions were given to airline companies to avoid any fare surges. Fares are being monitored and kept at reasonable levels.”

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi, warning of a potential severe heatwave from April 24 to 26. Daytime temperatures are expected to hover between 41 and 43 degrees Celsius, staying 2 to 4 degrees above normal across several parts of the capital.

After a brief dip on Tuesday, when the maximum temperature settled at 39.9 degrees Celsius – two degrees above normal – the mercury will likely climb again from Wednesday. Monday saw the season’s hottest day, with temperatures reaching 41.3 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature on Tuesday was 20.9 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal.

“Maximum temperatures are likely to rise over Delhi by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next five days,” the IMD said. Heatwave conditions are likely to intensify between Thursday and Saturday, with most areas witnessing extreme daytime heat.

Mr Nathaniel’s daughter, Akanksha, sustained a gunshot wound to her leg but survived. The terrorists asked Mr Nathaniel about his religion and demanded that he recite a specific prayer.

A potential disaster was avoided on the Konkan Railway route near Udupi, thanks to the vigilance of track maintainer Pradeep Shetty. In the early hours of Sunday, at 2.25 am, Shetty discovered a track weld failure between Innanje and Padubidri. He promptly reported the defect to the concerned officials, preventing a possible train mishap.

The defect on the track was swiftly fixed, and by 5.58 am, a track-fit certificate was issued with a speed restriction of 20 kmph for trains running on it.

Santosh Kumar Jha, Chairman and Managing Director of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), recognised Shetty’s quick action and announced an immediate cash award of Rs 25,000. The award was presented to Shetty at the restored track site later in the afternoon.
