Activist Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi Externed to Raichur for One Year.

Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district administration has externed activist Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi to Raichur district for a period of one year.The externment order was issued on September 18 by Assistant Commissioner of Puttur Division, Stella Varghese, based on a report submitted by the Bantwal DySP. The proceedings were initiated on May 11, citing multiple law and order concerns, including a series of fresh cases registered against Thimarodi while the externment process was still underway.According to police records, Thimarodi faces 21 cases registered by Belthangady police, and four additional cases were booked during the process of externment. He was one among 36 individuals identified for externment measures to maintain law and order in the district.

Thimarodi is closely associated with the Sowjanya campaign. Reports allege that he provided shelter to a former sanitation worker — the key complainant in the alleged mass burial case in Dharmasthala. The complainant is currently in judicial custody in Shivamogga on perjury charges.During SIT searches at Thimarodi’s residence, a firearm and other weapons were reportedly seized. Officials said he failed to appear for questioning despite two notices being issued, and has since sought anticipatory bail.Meanwhile, the SIT questioned Ganesh, a close aide of Thimarodi, regarding the alleged funding of the complainant. Investigators claimed the complainant had received up to ₹3.5 lakh through multiple accounts, some linked to Thimarodi’s supporters.
