Mangaluru: MLA Vedavyas Kamath Inaugurates Dasara Illumination.

Mangaluru : The entire city of Mangaluru has been decked up with dazzling lights for the famous Mangaluru Dasara festival. On the first day of Navaratri, MLA Vedavyas Kamath inaugurated the illumination ceremony near PVS Circle.Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that Mangaluru Dasara is a symbol of pride for the district, attracting devotees and tourists from across the country and abroad. He recalled that during the previous BJP government, a decision was made to ensure citywide illumination during the festival, under the leadership of the then mayor, corporators, standing committee members, and district party leaders, all of whom extended their full support.

Every year, the lighting arrangements cost around Rs 50 to 60 lakhs. Thanks to this initiative, temples in the city have collectively saved nearly Rs 3.5 crore in expenses over the years.Highlighting the festive spirit, he added that the grand illuminations at Mangaladevi, Urva Marigudi, Car Street, Dongerkery, and many other places during Dasara bring immense joy to the people and perfectly reflect the cultural pride of the region.
