Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, have filed a civil suit in the Delhi High Court seeking their rightful share of their late father Sunjay Kapur’s Rs 30,000 crore estate. They allege that their stepmother, Priya Kapur (Sunjay’s third wife), forged Sunjay’s will to exclude them and take control of the entire property. The suit demands a fair share of the estate, a complete statement of accounts, and a permanent injunction against the alleged wrongdoers. The children, legally represented by their mother Karisma Kapoor, claim that Priya has concealed full details of their father’s assets and produced a questionable will dated March 21, 2025, with a forged signature.

- Sunjay Kapur died suddenly on June 12, 2025, in Windsor, UK. Up to that time, no written will was known by his children from Karisma Kapoor, who had a close relationship with their father.
- Priya Kapur presented a will later, claiming all assets were in the RK Family Trust, but the children allege this will is forged and unregistered, surfacing only seven weeks after Sunjay’s death. They also claim that Priya concealed the full extent of assets and tried to exclude them fraudulently.
- The family dispute involves several defendants: Priya Kapur and her minor son (Sunjay’s children from her), Sunjay’s mother Rani Kapur, and the will’s executor. Rani Kapur’s stand is pending but she is named a class 1 heir.
- The Delhi High Court has issued notices and directed Priya to disclose a comprehensive list of assets. The court has scheduled further hearings, reflecting the complexity of this high-profile legal battle.
- While Priya’s lawyers deny forgery claims and state Karisma’s children are trust beneficiaries, the children maintain they have not yet received their due share of the Rs 1,900 crore reportedly already disbursed from the family trust.
- Priya’s legal counsel has questioned Karisma’s prolonged absence from Sunjay’s life and dismissed the suit as not maintainable, citing the bitter divorce between Karisma and Sunjay in 2016.
This case highlights an ongoing and intense inheritance dispute involving one of Bollywood’s prominent families and a vast industrial estate. The Delhi High Court is actively examining the legitimacy of the contested will and the rightful distribution of Sunjay Kapur’s Rs 30,000 crore assets
